I am writing this letter to invite our community to come eat at the Main Street Pizza Hut on Tuesday, March 25th to help support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Someone is diagnosed with MS every 3 minutes and the NMSS is there to help in many ways. I have been living with MS for 15 years. Although it is not a death sentence, it has changed my life. I am no longer able to drive, or walk without assistance. I try not to focus on the “why me” question, but concentrate on what I can do instead of what I can’t. Currently there is no cure for MS, however there are now several drugs available to slow down the progression and to help manage pain.
My family has been participating in the MS walk for 15 years as a way to give back to the organization which has been a great support to us. This year our team will be walking in Hays on April 12h.
Our local MS support group meets once a month at the Pizza Hut on Main Street which is very accessible and accommodating. We are able to talk, laugh and cry as long as we want to and eat pizza too!
Pizza Hut has generously agreed to donate to our walk again this year based on the sales from March 25th. This event will take place from 5-9 p.m. at the Main Street location only and includes dine in or carry out. I encourage you to bring your family, friends and neighbors. Your support of the NMSS is greatly appreciated.
