Dear Editor,
The most significant threat to individual freedom in America does not come from the Taliban or any other foreign threat. It comes from committed socialists like Barack Obama. The individual mandate enacted within Obamacare is a shining example.
Never in our Constitution’s 223-year history has the Commerce Clause been interpreted to allow Congress to force citizens to engage in economic activity, rather than simply to allow it to regulate those who choose to do so.
The government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the US. Our government now says you must purchase health insurance simply because you are alive.
This Pandora’s Box of unconstitutional new government intrusion is only the beginning of the socialist agenda.
What’s next?
How about fruit and vegetable purchases? No junk food.
How about purchasing cars from auto makers bailed out by the government?
What about private property rights?  Where you will be allowed to live?
No, it’s not so far-fetched when you plot the course we are on.
With this massive loss of freedom looming, Kansas Attorney General Steve Six has refused to join 20 other states’ Attorney Generals in challenging this apocalyptic gateway to government control of our lives.
Christina Stein has written that Obamacare does not go far enough.
It is a watered down version of what America needs.
I urge you to give careful consideration to your choices on Nov. 2.
