School district must look at priorities
Public Forum.jpg

To the editor:

Priorities. What is the meaning. The school district just announced another large purchase on lighting for sports facilities. Number one priority should be education. Number two should be safety and security. Then with anything left they could consider sports and play things. But they spend everything they have on unneeded vehicles and play things. It seems to me that they have their priorities mixed up. But by spending everything they have on wants they can ask you for more of your hard earned money for the safety of your kids. In essence what they are telling you is that their wanton spending is more important than the safety of the kids. They seem to think that you will forget what they spent the money on. I have a longer memory than that. They have more excuses for the waste than a politician at election time. Their priority is get anything they want no matter the cost. It is time that we demand better priorities. And stop using the kids as pawns to get their wants. Demand education, safety, security, then play things with what is left without more tax burden on the hard working citizens. Just the thought of an over taxed citizen.
