Giving the keys away to the city
Baltimore needs new mayor

Here’s how dumb the Baltimore mayor is.
“I want to give space to those who wish to destroy,” said Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. “I instructed them to do everything to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech.”
The Baltimore protest started to raise awareness of the death of Freddie Gray, 25, while he was in police custody.
Given the mayor’s permission and the likelihood they wouldn’t be stopped, the thugs put everyone on alert that no one was safe in Baltimore.
Flyers were quickly distributed describing how the city planned to have a “purge” Monday styled after the movie where all laws are ignored for one night.
Mayor Rawlings-Blake’s determined that citizens’ safety and property were not worth protecting from a violent mob. She didn’t feel the police has the ability to stop the violence. She didn’t want to see how it would play out if police violently clashed with lawbreakers.
There was no proclamation that police would prosecute everyone to the full extent of the law. Just have your fun and we’ll worry about it later. Everyone’s got insurance, right? That’s good for the insurance business.
Once the officers knew they wouldn’t be backed up, they let the thugs enjoy their freedom.
They started vandalizing areas of Camden Yards and destroyed businesses. Orioles Park at Camden Yards is renowned as one of the most beautiful in the major leagues and has become a preferred travel destination for visiting fans.
They smashed store windows, looted 7-Elevens. Cars were set on tire and destroyed. Bottles and rocks were thrown at officers at close range. Seven police officers were injured with one reportedly “unresponsive.”
By not giving her police officers full autonomy to stop the lawless mobs, the mayor gave her city a black eye.
Some fans may never come back to Baltimore or the Camden Yards area. Once an area is considered unsafe, law-abiding citizens will stay away.
However, law-breakers should feel welcome. You get the idea.
No one should feel safe in Baltimore, which needs a new mayor.
