To the editor:
While passing through a residential area in Great Bend Friday (3107 24th St.), I couldn’t help but notice the vulgar message depicted on a flag flying in the front yard. I was in complete shock, not only because of the crude language, but that the people and authorities of this community allow such vulgarity. Books are being banned in schools in an effort to protect children from “unsavory” messages, but it’s acceptable for them to see this message? Have our values eroded so much that we disrespect the leader of our country because he does not share our political persuasion? And we condemn those who didn’t vote the way we did? This is really a head shaker! I’m assuming this won’t be published because the language and the visual violate the guidelines of the Tribune, but I ask you, should such trash really be allowed on your streets?
