Ana Luiza Abras fights for the ball against Pratt Sunday afternoon at the Barton Sports Complex. Abras scored in Bartons 7-0 win over the Beavers as the Cougars went to 2-1 in the Jayhawk and 3-2-1 overall.

A pair of losses to ranked teams, a pair of 1-goal wins and a tie.
The Barton women’s soccer team had not experienced an easy game on the schedule. A game where you can just relax a bit and have some fun.
That finally happened in game number six.
Barton dominated the action all day Sunday at the Barton Sports Complex, rolling to an easy 7-0 win over Pratt in Jayhawk West play.
The Cougars scored in the first 10 minutes and never looked back as they improved to 3-2-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Jayhawk Conference. Pratt remained winless on the season at 0-7 and 0-3.
Just how dominant were the Cougars?
Barton put 28 shots on goal. Pratt zero. Barton got off 42 total shots. Pratt zero. The Cougars had seven corner kicks during the game. Pratt zero.
Nearly the entire game was played with Barton on the attack.
The Cougars scored 8:24 into the game on a Megan Martinez goal and moved to 2-0 when Rachel Craft added another goal just 10:16 in.
By half, Barton led 3-0 and could have easily have been more as the Cougars put 13 shots on goal.
The second half was just as dominant.
Softball star turned soccer star Maddison Schofield scored twice in the first 20 minutes to push the lead to 5-0. Barton added two more goals – Abigail Elliott and Ana Luiza Abras – before it was over.
The Cougars put 15 shots on goal in the second half – nearly one every three minutes.
Next up for Barton will be a trip to Hesston on Friday as the Cougars will get five days off from competition. That contest will start at 5 pm.
The contest will not be a cakewalk. Hesston is 6-1 on the season and 3-0 against other Region VI teams. The Larks have beaten Northwest Tech, Pratt and Garden City by a combined score of 15-0.
