The Barton women’s basketball team will take on Cowley in the quarterfinals of the Region VI basketball Tuesday.
Barton had a bye to open the tournament as the fourth seed. The Cougars had to wait and see their foe would be after opening round play on Saturday.
That opponent will be Cowley, which opened the postseason with a win over Pratt. The fifth seed Tigers handed the 12th seed Pratt a 63-54 loss to start the postseason.
Barton and Cowley will play Tuesday at 6 pm at the Barton.
The winner will move to the semifinals, Friday in Salina at the Tony Pizza Events Center. If Barton wins, the Cougars will play the winner of Independence and Butler.
Butler went on the road to open the postseason and defeated Garden in a 9-8 matchup. Colby, the 11th seed, also won on the road as a lower seed to open the Region VI playoffs, defeating Coffeyville.
