COLBY — The Barton Community College women’s golf team got off to a grand start with a season-opening win at Colby.
The 27-hole Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference tournament started Sunday and finished on Monday with the Lady Cougars finishing first with a team score of 538.
Colby finished second with 563. Players from Dodge City and Coffeyville were also competing, though neither school had enough players for a full team.
Barton’s top finisher was freshman Katie Seeman, a Larned High School graduate. She shot a 133 for fifth place.
