Barton Community College softball team’s Alexandria Rodriguez was recently named to the All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Jayhawk Western Division second team.
Despite missing the last third of the season due to injury, Rodriguez garnered the conference recognition as her .361 batting average ranked 14th in NJCAA Region VI Division I.
Rodriguez, a sophomore from Wichita, led Barton in most offensive categories until late in the season. In addition to her batting average, Rodriguez led the team with a .526 slugging percentage, a .451 on-base percentage, seven doubles and three triples.
Rodriguez also finished second on the team with 20 runs scored, 22 runs batted in, 51 total bases, 10 walks and was two-for-two in stolen bases.
Rodriguez will continue her education next fall returning home to Wichita to attend Wichita State University.
