BCC gets third seed at Soccer Championships

The bracket is set for the NJCAA Men’s Soccer Championships with the Barton Cougars snagging the third seed at the event.

Barton will be part of Pool C. There are four pools of three teams, which play a round robin. Each pool winner then moves into the semifinals.

The Cougars will are the top seed in their pool. Joining the 18-1-2 Cougars will be No. 6 seed Georgia Military (14-2-1) and No. 10 seed St. Louis Community College (18-3).

Pool play will take place Monday through Wednesday with semifinals set for Friday and the championship contest on Saturday.

Barton will open play on the first day against St. Louis. Barton will Georgia Military on Wednesday to close out pool play. St. Louis and Georgia Military will play each other Tuesday. All games will be at 1:30 p.m. central time.

Former Barton coach Oliver Twelvetrees will also be at the event. He will not have to travel near the same amount of miles, though, leading his Eastern Florida State to the National Tournament for the third time in six years.

The Titans will be in the same pool as Region VI member Cowley. Eastern Florida and Cowley will play on day two.
