After their final games on Wednesday in Coffeyville, the Barton Community College soccer teams are preparing for their postseason games next week.
The BCC men’s team completed a perfect 12-0 record in the NJCAA Region VI standings after a 6-0 win against the Ravens, making Barton the No. 1 seed in the Region VI championship.
The Cougars are also ranked No. 10 in the latest NJCAA poll.
As the No. 1 seed, Barton plays the quarterfinals game at home against Kansas City, Kansas, which went 5-6 in the region and finished the season with a 6-10 record. The game is set for Tuesday at 3 p.m.
In their last meeting, the Cougars won at home, 2-0.
The Lady Cougars were able to turn themselves around against Coffeyville, ending a two-game slide with a 5-0 win.
The Lady Cougars finished with a Region VI record of 10-3, with losses against Hutchinson, which is ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA poll, Johnson Country, ranked No. 7, and Butler. The two losses dropped the Lady Cougars to fourth place in the region behind those three teams.
Barton will be hosting No. 5 seed Neosho County on Monday.
The Lady Cougars last played the Panthers on Sept. 25, winning 2-0.
