Barton Community College’s scheduled Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Western Division doubleheader Wednesday night in Hutchinson was postponed because of the inclement weather.
The games have been rescheduled for tonight in Hutch, with the women’s game set for 5:30 and the men’s game at 7:30.
Hutchinson’s men (17-1, 3-1) are ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA basketball rankings, having a 17-game winning streak and No. 1 ranking end at the hands of Butler last Saturday night.
Hutch’s women (16-2, 3-1) are ranked No. 20.
Barton’s men are 14-5, 2-3, and the Barton women are 10-8, 3-2.
Brunson selected as KJCCC
basketball Player of the Week
Barton’s Dwayne Brunson was selected as the KJCCC Verizon Wireless Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for his play last week in wins over Dodge City and Garden City, averaging 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 2.0 blocks per contest during that stretch.
Brunson recorded seven steals in the road win at Garden City as well as go 8-for-8 from the free throw line. ... Brunson scored 20 points in a home win over Dodge City on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor. Brunson is shooting 54 percent from the floor on the season, averaging 13.1 points per contest and eight rebounds.
