COLBY — Barton Community College built a 44-22 halftime lead over Colby on Wednesday night at the Colby Community Building.
As has been the case in the wild and wacky Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference, no lead is safe.
Colby came all the way back from the 22-point deficit to beat Barton 77-75 in Western Division play.
Colby tied the game at 64-all on Marty Wendel’s free throw and then took the lead for good on Carson Konrade’s layup and a 66-64 advantage.
While the Cougars missed 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch, Colby was able to hold on down the stretch.
Barton had a couple tip shots at the buzzer but missed and Colby escaped.
BCC entertains Pratt in the regular-season and home finale on Saturday night. The women’s game starts at 6.
