CRESTED BUTTE, Colo. — Cameron Chambers, son of Golden Belt Bicycle Co. owner Doug Chambers of Great Bend, won the Alpine Odyssey 100K, beating some very famous competition Saturday.
Chambers broke the course record, clocking in at three hours, 59 minutes, three seconds to finish first.
He beat a number of riders, including Lance Armstrong, who finished fifth in the competition.
Greg Krause finished 2:30 behind Chambers for second place. John Gaston finished third, and Brian Smith finished fourth.
Chambers has won several competitions this year, including the USA Cycling Singlespeed Cross Country Championship earlier in the summer.
