MANHATTAN — Kansas State football fans will have an opportunity to cheer on the Wildcats football team at an event that has become a fan favorite of K-State bowl traditions.
The K-State pep rally will be held on Thursday, Jan. 5, before the 2012 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic kicks off the next day.
The pep rally will be at Rangers Ballpark, located at 1000 Ballpark Way in Arlington, Texas. Stadium gates for the program open at 4 p.m., and there will be no admission charge. Transportation to and from the pep rally is included in the Alumni Association’s official university travel packages. Parking for the pep rally is free.
The pep rally, brought to you by the K-State Alumni Association, K-State Athletics, Kansas State University Foundation and the president’s office, will feature the football team, coaches and university dignitaries with performances by the K-State Marching Band, Classy Cats, cheerleaders and Willie the Wildcat. Those attending the pep rally will receive a free AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic commemorative button while supplies last. K-State merchandise and concessions, including beverages and pre-packaged food, will be available for purchase.
“We are very proud of Coach (Bill) Snyder, his staff and the team for their outstanding season,” said Amy Button Renz, president and CEO of the Alumni Association. “The pep rally is always a fun way for fans to show their support for the team and get ready for the bowl game. We look forward to a great event as we turn the Dallas area purple.”
