Kynard wins gold medal in high jump

Former Kansas State high jumper Erik Kynard has taken it to the next level with Team Nike.

Kynard won the gold medal in the high jump by clearing 7-5¾ on Sunday at the U.S. Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, to earn another spot on Team USA.

Kynard won two NCAA titles, plus four other top five finishes, as well as six Big 12 titles and two runner-up finishes. He won an Olympic silver medal in the 2012 London Games.

Kynard is Kansas State’s career record holder at 7-8¾.
