GAME NOTES — It was the 272nd meeting between the state rivals. … In their most recent meeting on Jan. 29, Kansas routed Kansas State 90-66. … KU entered the game leading the nation in field goal percentage at 52.3. The Jayhawks also led the Big 12 in scoring (83.9 average), scoring margin (+19.9), 3-point field-goal percentage (39.1 percent), team assists (18.6) and assists-to-turnover ratio (1.4).  … Kansas State was 3-13 all-time vs. nation’s top-ranked team. … Since returning from an NCAA-imposed three-game suspension on Jan. 3, Pullen had averaged 19.4 points on 42.2 percent shooting from the floor over the last 11 games. A senior, Pullen is the Big 12’s second-leading active scorer, pushing his total to 1,939 points. Pullen was coming off his second-lowest scoring output of the season, managing only 12 points in a 58-56 at Colorado on Saturday. His lowest total was four points, when then-No. 3 K-State lost to Duke on Nov. 23, 82-68. ... It was the largest margin of victory for Kansas State over KU since beating the Jayhawks by 15 points during the 1988 season. ... It also marks the second straight year that Kansas State has defeated the No. 1-ranked team in the nation on Big Monday. Last year, the Cats beat Texas, 71-62.
