Johnson leads Cougars
to 84-51 win on Friday
HIGHLAND — Freshman post player Johnson made all six of his shots from the floor and finished with a game-high 15 points, leading 11th-ranked Barton to an easy 84-51 win over North Central Missouri on Friday afternoon at the Highland Classic.
Barton’s sophomore backcourt trio also had another productive game — Al Key scored 14 points, Turon Parker added 13 points and Cumberbatch scored 12 — as the Cougars improved to 11-0 on the season.
Johnson and Key narrowly missed double-doubles as they each finished with nine rebounds. Parker added a team-high seven assists.
The Cougars, who led 35-23 at halftime, turned it up a notch in the second half in breezing to the win.
Despite missing 16 of 20 3-pointers, Barton found things a lot easier in the paint as it finished 31 for 64 on the night.
