Coming off a tough loss Monday, the Barton volleyball team needed to rebound in a Jayhawk match it needed to win.
The Cougars did just that in very convincing fashion.
Barton rolled by Pratt in straight sets, winning 25-14, 25-20, 25-20 at the Lesh Sports Arena in Pratt.
Barton inched back over the .500 mark in the Jayhawk with the win at 3-2. The Cougars are 14-4 overall. Pratt fell to 1-3 in the Jayhawk and 6-10 overall.
The Cougars dominated the opening set pretty much from the opening serve on the way to the easy 25-14 win.
Barton led throughout the second set as well in winning 25-20. The third set saw Barton take command with a 9-2 run that made it a 20-12 lead. From there the Cougars cruised to the 25-20 win.
Monique Oliveira led the Barton hitting with 11 kills followed by Olivia Naccarato with 10. Those two not only combined for 21 kills but had only three errors.
Lydia Konrade paced the Cougars with 16 digs and Carolina Goncalves led the Cougars with 28 assists. Naccarato was big at the net on defense again with five blocks to lead Barton.
Barton can throw itself in the thick of the Jayhawk title chase Saturday when Hutchinson pays a visit to the Barton Gym. The Blue Dragons will bring a 4-0 Jayhawk record to town sitting alone at the top of the standings.
Barton is currently alone in fourth in the Jayhawk.
First serve is set for 2 pm.
