The Barton Community College baseball team dropped both Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference games against Dodge City on Saturday at Lawson-Biggs Field.
The Cougars scored three runs in the fourth to take a one-run lead in the first game, but surrendered two runs in the fifth to lose 6-5.
Holding a five-run advantage in the second game, Barton gave up 12 unanswered runs, including seven in the top of the ninth to lose 14-7. Barton falls to 12-26 overall, 7-15 in conference play. Dodge improves to 28-16, 17-9.
Barton hosts Dodge City today for a doubleheader. The first game starts at 1 p.m. at Lawson-Biggs Field.
Lady Cougars split
games at Colby tourney
COLBY — The Barton softball team fell 12-3 against Western Nebraska and beat McCook, Neb., 10-7 on Saturday at the Colby tournament.
The Lady Cougars, who are 7-17 overall this season, play Otero, Trinidad State and Lamar today. All three opponents hail from Colorado.
