The final individual running as a former Barton Cougar, Simone Facey came up short in her bid for a spot in the finals of the women’s 200m at the World Championships in London Thursday.
Facey, running for Jamaica, finished fourth in the second heat. That was not good enough for a spot in the finals.
Facey ran a 23.01. The top two spots in each of the three heats made the finals as well as the next two best times. Both of the at large qualifiers came from the third heat at 22.84 and 22.85.
Jamaica did not have anyone make the finals which will take place Friday.
Facey and Akeem Haynes of Canada still have the 4x100m relay on the schedule.
The opening round for the 4x100m will be Saturday for both the men and women with the finals set for Sunday.
