For the third week in a row, a Barton baseball player has earned a weekly award by the Jayhawk Conference.
Kaden Fowler was named the Player of the Week as awarded by Kansas MTXE after a pair of Pitcher of the Week honors won by Josh Hendrickson the past two weeks.
Fowler had a huge week last week, going 17-of-23 for a .739 average and seven extra base hits. That means he had a ridiculous state of having more extra base hits (7) than outs (6). He reached base 25 times in 32 plate appearances and scored 19 runs.
For the season, the Towanda sophomore is hitting a sizzling .563 with three home runs, 21 RBI and 19 runs scored. Fowler was an honorable mention all selection at catcher.
Barton completed its first Jayhawk Conference of the series this weekend against Dodge City. The Cougars will take on Garden City this weekend.
