The Barton Community College women’s golf team has secured another local product for next season.
Taylor Mohr, a senior at Great Bend High School, recently signed a letter-of-intent to Barton. She joins a growing list of Panther golfers signed by Coach Doug Kaiser. Currently Madison Werth, a sophomore, and Kalee Maneth, a freshman, are members of the Cougars’ squad.
“We do our best to keep all the local talent we can,” Barton coach Doug Kaiser said. “They have played a key part in building our team the past several years. Not only from Great Bend but also in Barton County and the surrounding area.
“Plus Taylor is just a really good person. She will be a wonderful addition to our team next year.”
Mohr was a 4-time letter winner at Great Bend as well as was a member of those two state qualifying teams. She placed eighth at the Class 5A Regional on the Panthers home course this past fall at StoneRidge Country Club.
“Taylor started playing golf as a freshman, through hard work and determination she picked up the game quickly and finished the season on the varsity team,” Great Bend coach Troy Stein said. “Taylor played an integral part in helping her team qualify for the state tournament her junior and senior year. Taylor is a good teammate, a good student, and a good person.”
The Panthers took 10th at the state meet at the Salina Municipal Golf Course this past fall.
Three times during her high school career Mohr was a Top 10 finisher in a tournament.
