COFFEYVILLE — The Barton Community College women’s golf team placed five players in the top 10 at a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference tournament on Monday.
The Lady Cougars finished first with 551 strokes, pulling ahead of Dodge City on the second day of the two-day competition.
“We’ve taken first in both conference tournaments so far,” Barton head coach Doug Kaiser said. “I know there aren’t a lot of teams in our conference, but we’re right there.
“We shot some good golf on the second day to come back to win.”
Kara Koepplin was the top finisher for Barton, shooting a 133 in the 27-hole tournament.
Staisha Miller (134) finished fourth, Blakelee Cooper (139) captured fifth and Maddie Sherman (140) and Katie Seeman (140) tied for sixth.
The Lady Cougars start another two-day conference tournament on Friday, Oct. 14, traveling to Dodge City.
