Friends of former Barton Community College men’s soccer player Ousainou Senghore will be holding a memorial on Sunday, July 14, at Veterans Memorial Park.
Known as “Ous” to his friends, the 2011 Barton graduate passed away on July 4 in a drowning accident while swimming in the Gulf of Mexico.
As a defender, Senghore started 22 games in his sophomore season.
The Cougars only allowed 20 goals that season as they went 21-4-1, including 12-0 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
Barton finished third in the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament.
Friends have organized the celebration of Ous’ life scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. on the southeast side of the park.
Donation offering to be sent to Ous’ family will also be available.
