Raygoza, Tatom spark Bat Cats' rout

Great Bend's hottest two hitters Jake Tatom (.422) and Armani Raygoza (.367) sparked a 12-3 rout over the Haysville Aviators Friday. Tatom (Kingwood, Texas) and Raygoza (El Paso, Texas) each drove in four runs.

The Bat Cats (22-7, 17-4 Jayhawk) head to Hutchinson Saturday for a single game.

JoJo Nieves singled three times and scored three runs. Tatom, Raygoza, Brady Kreutzer and Jace Wentling each delivered two hits.

Raygoza scored on a first-inning error after he singled home Tatom. Nolan Bushko singled in Nieves and Bushko scored on Tatom's sacrifice fly for a 4-0 lead.

Aviators Sam Wiese scored on a wild pitch by Bat Cats starter Brett Allen (3-2), who struck out eight batters in five solid innings. Connor Chavez scored on Tatom's groundout for a 5-1 lead. Aviators Cade Irwin and Ben DeVries delivered back-to-back RBIs for a 5-3 score after five innings.

Raygoza delivered a game-breaking double to score Chavez, Nieves and Bushko for an 8-3 lead. Nieves singled in Jase Woita and Tatom's single brought home Kreutzer and Nieves for an 11-3 lead. Wentling's single drove in Woita for the final run.

Reliever Hunter Jones struck out six batters and Kevin Schoneboom recorded three outs as the Bat Cats struck out 15 Aviators.
