No. 4 state-ranked 2A Ellinwood (6-0, 1-0 CPL) outscored the Oilers 27-12 on 3-pointers, a replay of last year's league-clinching victory over Central Plains. The Eagles led 29-16 at halftime and outscored the Oilers 16-7 in the fourth quarter.
Central Plains (3-2, 0-1 CPL) was led by Emery Siemsen with 13 points and Aevyn Siemsen with nine points.

CENTRAL PLAINS 53, ELLINWOOD 42 — Central Plains Oiler Camden Stiles scored 20 points with four 3-pointers to spark a 53-42 victory over Ellinwood in Thursday's Central Prairie League basketball game.
The Oilers (5-0, 2-0 CPL) led 18-5 after one quarter to control the outcome from the outset. Ellinwood (0-6, 0-2 CPL) was paced by Layton Wirtz with a career high 18 points. Leading scorer Drake Hosman was limited to nine points by the Oilers' matchup defense.
Ellinwood converted seven 3-pointers to outscore the Oilers 21-12 from long range. The Oilers converted 13 free throws and scored 28 points inside the 3-point line.
