HILLSBORO GIRLS 57, HOISINGTON 34 – Central Kansas League champion Hillsboro outscored the Cardinals 19-4 to build a 46-25 lead and coasted home for a 57-34 basketball victory.
Hillsboro's sister tandem of Amyah Werth (23) and Zaylee Werth (14) combined for 37 Trojan points. The Trojans converted nine 3-pointers to outscore the Cardinals 27-15 from long range. The Trojans took advantage of a height and strength edge to gather rebounds and loose balls.
Cardinal Kylee Hahn scored 16 points.
"Hillsboro's a legit team," said Hoisington coach Trina Lutters. "Once they see the ball in the hoop, they're tough. We showed we could play with them when we were focused playing good defense. We were definitely challenged tonight. Kylee Hahn hit some shots, but we didn't get our offense going.
