HOISINGTON 7, BELOIT 6

HOISINGTON – In a defensive slugfest, Hoisington Cardinal Chase Steinert delivered the game's signature play. Steinert made a game-saving tackle on Beloit's Maddox Waters to preserve a District clinching 7-6 victory in 2A, District 8. Waters caught the 61-yard reception, but the Cardinals' defense stopped Beloit's offense.

Cardinal Legend Robinson scored on a 1-yard touchdown and Carlos Mota added the game-winning extra point. 

The Cardinals (7-1, 5-0) play Ellis (3-4) at home. Beloit (5-3, 4-1) travels to Lakin (5-3).

Beloit's Parker Isbell recovered a fumble with three tackles and 10 assists.

KINSLEY — Macksville's defense held strong after halftime for a hard-fought 30-22 victory over Kinsley in 8-Man 1, District 6. Macksville QB Ryan Kuckelman scored scored two touchdowns and caught the game-winning 66-yard halfback pass from Hector Gomez. Gomez caught a 42-yard scoring strike from Kuckelman.

Macksville (4-4, 4-1) plays Medicine Lodge (6-2) at home Friday. Medicine Lodge dominated the Mustangs 54-14 earlier in the season. Kinsley (5-3, 3-2) plays Attica-Argonia. (7-1)

Jason Cleveland and Ryan Kuckelman each contributed seven tackles and two assists. Rogelio Ibarra intercepted a pass. Kinsley's Conner Chamberlain scored two touchdowns.

WILSON — Dawson McNeal and Blaine Hickel each scored two touchdowns to spark Central Plains past Wilson. Central Plains (5-3, 4-2) will travel to Caldwell for a rematch of last year's 8-Man 2 playoff game. Caldwell downed the Oilers last year on a controversial finish. Wilson is (1-7, 1-5).

McNeal scored on 2- and 11-yard runs. Hickel scored on a 30-yard fumble return and ended the game on an 11-yard run. The Oilers held Wilson to minus 16 yards rushing. Cole Lamatsch had 11 tackles and three assists. Hickel had 10 tackles.

STAFFORD – Angel Dominquez scored three touchdowns and Tai Hildebrand scored two rushing touchdowns with 117 yards to spark a 58-30 victory over Hutchinson Central Christian.

Dylan Gantz completed two touchdown passes to Dominguez, who scored a rushing touchdown. Gantz and Shawn Sheets scored rushing touchdowns for Stafford (4-4, 2-3). Dominguez and Brody Kerschenske each had nine tackles/

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood's Drew Heinz scored on a desperation 37-yard pitchout from Cole Petz for the Eagles' touchdown in a 43-7 loss to Ell-Saline. Ellinwood (1-7, 1-5) travels to Remington Friday.

Quarterback Kade Wilson rushed for two touchdowns and passed to two touchdowns for Ell-Saline (3-5, 3-3).

PRATT — Skyline's Brayden Berens scored four rushing touchdowns as the Thunderbirds roared past St. John 60-8.

Isaac Alphin gained 133 yards with two touchdowns. Jesus Casas rushed for 124 yards with two TDs and scored on a 79-yard punt return for Skyline (3-5, 2-3)

St. John (0-8, 0-6) scored one touchdown.
