ELLINWOOD 67, STAFFORD 29

LANGDON — Ellinwood’s Mary Dimitt scored a career high 20 points and Mya Maxwell converted five 3-pointers and scored 18 points as the Eagles rolled past Stafford 67-29 in Tuesday’s Fairfield Falcon Classic. 

Daphne Doll hauled down 14 rebounds and Maxwell grabbed 10 boards. Dimitt had four steals and Bella Baker dished out three assists. Stafford’s Emily Green scored 14 points.

ROZEL — The Pawnee Heights girls coasted past Fowler 62-8 in Friday’s non-league basketball game. Tigers Madison Polson and Jaden Carlson each scored 25 points.

“The girls went in expecting to win and set the tone for the season,” said Pawnee Heights coach Hannah Rasmussen. “They work extremely well all together and had many steals. Fowler’s girls showed great sportsmanship.”

St. John, Cardinals secure wins

LARNED – No. 1 ranked 1A St. John roared past Kiowa County 54-38 and Hoisington sped past Bucklin 81-62 to advance into Friday’s Gene Keady Basketball semifinals.

In Friday’s semifinals, St. John and Hoisington play at 3:45 and Larned meets Spearville at 7:15 p.m.

In consolation play Thursday, Kinsley will play Macksville and Kiowa Co. will match up with Bucklin.

KEADY GIRLS – St. John’s girls slipped by Kiowa County 40-34 and Bucklin surprised Hoisington 46-28.

In Friday’s semifinals, Spearville meets Macksville and Bucklin plays St. John.

Kiowa County will tangle with Hoisington and Larned and Kinsley will play in consolation play.
