Beloit to host 31st Annual Kansas 8 Man All Star Games

The 31st Annual Kansas 8 Man All Star Football games will be played in Beloit on Saturday, June 11th. The Division I game will be held at 10 a.m. at Trojan Field on North Hersey Avenue. Pregame will begin at 9:30 a.m. with introduction of the players. Braedan Crites of Great Bend and Michael Ryan of Claflin have been selected to play on the West Squad.
Braedan Crites is a 2016 graduate of Central Plains High School. Football statistics and accomplishments include: 5,364 career passing yards, 100 TDs, 1,564 rushing yards and 39 TDs. He was selected Prep 2 Sophomore of the Year, 2014 All State Quarterback, 1st Team All League and 2015 All State Defensive Back. Central Plains was the 2014 8 Man I State Champion and 3 time District Champions.
Braeden was selected 2nd Team League in baseball and basketball. Central Plains was State Runner Up in basketball in 2015. Activities and honors outside school include Fall Festival Volunteer and CYO member. Braedan enjoys eating Chinese food with friends and participating in sports. He is valedictorian of his senior class and a member of National Honor Society. Braedan’s parents are Dan and Lisa Crites.
Michael Ryan is a 2016 graduate of Central Plains High School. Football statistics and accomplishments include: 2013: Offensive Line-2nd Team CPL, District 5 Honorable Mention, KPREPS District 5 Honorable Mention; 2014: Defensive Lineman 2nd Team CPL, Center Honorable Mention CPL, Defensive Line KPREPS District 5 Honorable Mention, Offensive Line District 5 Honorable Mention, Offensive Line KPREPS District 5 Honorable Mention; #17 in Sacks in the state 8 Man, 65 tackles, 7 sacks; 2015: 442 receiving yards, 27 catches, 13 touchdowns, 77 tackles, 7 sacks. Honors and accomplishments in other sports include: Basketball: 2012-2013 - Honorable Mention All Central Prairie League; 2013-2014: Honorable Mention All State, 2nd Team All League CPL, Amos Morris/George Stephens Classic All Tournament Team, St. John Mid Winter Classic All Tournament Team; 2014-2015: 1st Team Central Prairie League Team (unanimous), 2nd Team 2A Topeka Capital Journal All State Team, 2nd Team 2A Sports in Kansas All State Team, 2nd Team All Area Hutchinson News Team, Honorable Mention 2A KBCA All State Team, Honorable Mention 2A Wichita Eagle All State Team, Amos Morris/George Stephens Classic All-Tournament team, Tournament of Champions All-Tournament Team, KPREPS State All-Tournament Team, WIBW State All-Tournament Team; Tennis: 2013-2014: State Singles 9th Place, 2013 All State Academic Team, Season Record 29-7; 2013-2014: Regional Tennis Doubles Champion, State Tennis Doubles 4th place; 2014-2015: Regional Doubles Champion, 2nd in State. Micheal is a member of CYO and enjoys hanging out with friends and family. He has been an honor student 4 years, NHS, Student of the Month, O-Club President and FFA President junior year.
