HOISINGTON – Hoisington’s Chase Steinert doubled home Braxton Linsner and M.J. Aylward with the tying and winning runs for a dramatic 11-10 victory over Hesston in Friday’s Central Kansas League baseball game. Hesston (3-1) rallied from an 8-2 deficit for a 16-11 victory in the opener. The wild twin bill featured 48 runs and 61 hits in windswept conditions.

Hoisington (1-5) travels to Haven (4-2) Thursday.

HOISINGTON 11, HESSTON 10 (G2) – Linsner singled and Aylward walked to set up Steinert’s seventh-inning game-winner off reliever Layne Clark. Steinert and Tony Moore each drove home three runs. Ryan Galla and Alex Elmore also delivered RBIs.

Hesston’s Shelite doubled twice and drove home three runs. Lange and Wilson drove home two runs.

HESSTON 16, HOISINGTON 11 (G1) – Hoisington starter Layton Haxton was staked to an 8-2 lead, but Hesston scored 11 runs in the fourth inning off Haxton and Steinert. Hesston pounded out 19 hits. Lange, Wilson and Clark each drove home three runs. Shelite and Cox drove in two runs apiece.

Hoisington responded with 15 hits in a competitive hitting game. Steinert and Lance French each drove home three runs. M.J. Aylward, Haxton (two doubles) and Elmore each drove in a run.
