Hoisington baseball rescheduled Thursday

HAVEN – Hoisington relief pitcher Avery Brewer threw two shutout innings to preserve the Cardinals’ opening 8-6 Central Kansas League baseball victory. Haven won the second game 8-5.

HOISINGTON 8, HAVEN 6 (G1) — Hoisington’s defense turned three double plays and catcher Hunter Hanzlick threw out a baserunner to key the Cardinals’ back-and-forth victory. Third baseman Avery Brewer and shortstop Myles Menges started the double plays.

Jacob Specht’s single drove home Braxton Donovan in the first inning. Haven’s Jamar Miller singled home Mario Quintero for a 1-1 tie. Brewer and Donovan delivered RBI second-inning singles for a 3-1 lead. Derek Boxberger singled home Trey Byers for a 4-1 lead.
