HOISINGTON — The No. 8 state-ranked 3A Hoisington Cardinals rolled to five wins to capture Saturday's Hoisington Cardinal volleyball tournament. The Cardinals (23-2) downed St. John 25-16, 25-18 in the championship match.

In the championship match, Sofia Simic delivered 14 winners, 12 serves, 6 serves received and 4 digs. Also contributing were defensive specialist Gabby Reif 15 serves received, 7 serves, 6 digs; Ellie Crawford 19 assists, 10 serves; Miya Nachtigal 8 serves; Kelsi Maier 7 winners; Brynn Tarlton 4 digs; Addison Hanzlick 2 blocks. 

St. John (4-1) was followed by Phillipsburg (3-2) with Central Plains (1-4), Smith Center (1-4) and Otis-Bison (1-4) tying for third place.
