ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood quarterback Drew Heinz completed two touchdown passes to Cooper Hosman and added a 6-yard touchdown run in a 54-20 setback to Conway Springs in a 1A, District 7 football game.
Hosman caught 48- and 67-yard scoring strikes to take advantage of the Cardinals’ pass defense.
Cardinal back Brayden Kunz was a one-man wrecking crew with three touchdown runs, 131 yards rushing and a pair of touchdown passes. Kunz scored on 5, 23 and 47 yards runs. He completed touchdown passes to Isaac Winter and Connor Rusco. The Cardinals rushed for 359 yards.
The Cardinals (3-2, 2-0 District) drop Ellinwood to 3-2, 0-2 District.
