Cardinals win four gold medal
GYPSUM — Hoisington earned four first-place finishes by Kynlie Crowdis, Josiah Ball, Shellamae Farmer and Mallory Mooney at the SE Saline Track Invitational.
Crowdis won the 800 metrers (2:33.58). Ball (13-3) and Farmer (11-3) won the pole vault and Mooney won the triple jump (33-71/2).
Runner-up medals were earned by Kylee Hahn, 100 hurdles (16.51); Josiah Ball, 110 hurdles (15.16); 300 hurdles (40.63); Jason Robinson, long jump (19-83.4).
“The team had outstanding performances as they prepare for the league meet at Lyons, and the next week at the Garden City regional,” said Hoisington coach Dan Shmnidy. “The seniors have stepped up their “A game” as they near the end of their high school careers. They have been a super group to work with. They keep the younger kids on focus for what is needed to end on a high note.”
