CENTRAL PLAINS GIRLS 66, PHILLIPSBURG 19 (1ST) — Central Plains all-stater Emily Ryan scored 29 points with seven steals and six assists to spark the Oilers past the Panthers in the Amos Morris Basketball Classic. The five-time state champions have swept 88 consecutive games. The Oilers (4-0) play St. John at home Tuesday.
Avery Hurley scored 12 points and Rachel Lamatsch added nine points. The Oilers led 28-4 after one quarter and 46-10 at halftime. Oilers Emily Ryan, Avery Hurley and Delaney Rugan earned All-Tournament honors.
Also named All-Tournament were Smith Center’s Bree Freiling and Gracen Hutchinson, Russell’s Tiffany Dortland and Megan Peeler, Ellsworth’s Lakyn Tenbrink, Plainville’s Aubrey Dewey and Phillipsburg’s Alexia Beach.
