Diamond Dawgs roll past Bat Cats, 15-5

CHENEY – Great Bend All-Star Alex Rodgers was on fire with two homers and a double, sparking the Bat Cats to a 4-1 lead over Cheney. 

But Cheney gained momentum with a 4-run inning and outscored Great Bend 15-5 in Wednesday's Sunflower Collegiate baseball game. The Bat Cats (25-10, 21-9) drop three games behind Cheney (28-5, 24-5).

Rodgers homered in the first and fourth innings. Kyle Gates drilled a 2-run homer. Rodgers ended a perfect 3-for-3 night with three runs scored by scoring on Bodi Wallar's seventh-inning groundout. 

Cheney rallied with four runs in the fourth inning, four runs in the sixth inning and five runs in the seventh inning. Reliever Cade McWilliams yielded nine runs.

Cheney's Holder drove home three runs. Alex Epp and George Specht each drove home two runs in a 17-hit attack.
