Eagles win Sterling golf title

STERLING — Ellinwood (336) won the Sterling Golf Invitational featuring three top 10 medalists in 89-degree weather with 20 to 35 mph southerly winds.

Ellinwood's third-place Remi Thomas (80) birdied Nos. 2 and 4, sixth-place Luke Heinz (81) and seventh-place Austin Shinliver (84) birdied Nos. 5, 13 and 16 to earn top 10 medals. Keaton Lewis (91) placed 15th.

Cheney's Kooper Williams birdied Nos. 4 and 7 to earn medalist honors with a 3-over-par 74 at Sterling Country Club.
