The El Dorado Broncos roared past the Great Bend Bat Cats 14-8 Thursday to salvage one victory in the three-game series at Al Burns Field.
The Bat Cats (2-3) journey to Oklahoma City for a three-game series Fri-day through Sunday.
BRONCOS 14, BAT CATS 8 – El Dorado scored seven runs in the fourth inning for a 14-8 Jayhawk League victory over the Bat Cats led 6-3 after three innings. The Broncos’ inning featured six hits, three walks and an error off starter Austin Pritchard and reliever Andrew Repp. The Broncos scored six unearned runs. Tristan Peterson and Tanner White each drove in four runs.
The Bat Cats scored three first-inning runs. Dawson Pomeroy singled ho-me Michael Sinks. Jordan Wilkerson singled home Corrigan Bartlett. Fon-tenot’s double brought home Pomeroy, but Wilkerson was thrown out at home in the biggest defensive play of the night.
Sinks’ sacrifice fly drove home Brady Michel in the second inning. Taylor Langton’s single brought home Wilkerson and Fontenot’s double drove home Langston for a 6-3 lead after three innings.
Bartlett scored on Romero’s groundout and Pomeroy scored on Kai Ho’s sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.
