Ellinwood sweeps baseball games
LITTLE RIVER – Ellinwood swept Little River 16-0 and 9-6 in Tuesday’s baseball doubleheader. Ellinwood (3-3) plays at Ellsworth April 8.
EAGLES 16, LITTLE RIVER 0 (G1) – Ellinwood pitchers Trace Tudor and Cohen Gunn combined for a 3-hit shutout with nine strikeouts. The Eagles scored 11 runs in the sixth inning.
Drake Hosman tripled, scored three runs and drove home four runs with three hits. Cohen Gunn drove home three runs, scored twice and had two singles. Tudor, Logan Panning and Campbell Coleman drove home runs.
EAGLES 9, LITTLE RIVER 6 (G2) – Ellinwood rallied from a 5-0 deficit for a hard-fought 9-6 victory. Cohen Gunn drove home two runs. Cooper Gunn, Hosman, Coleman and Bryan Jaske drove home runs. Cooper Gunn scored three runs.
Hosman pitched three shutout innings to earn the victory.
Carter Stanbury drove home three runs for Little River (0-4). Spencer Strecker, Kelby Rice and Saio Neufeld drove in runs.
