Little River sweeps Eagles
LITTLE RIVER — Little River roared past Ellinwood 18-0 and 16-1 in Monday’s non-league baseball doublheader.
The Eagles (3-15) will be seventh seed in next week’s Great Bend 2A baseball regional.
LITTLE RIVER 18, ELLINWOOD 0 (G1) — Ellinwood’s Gage Hosman delivered two singles against pitcher Graham Stephens.
Little River (13-3) took advantage of 10 walks, three batters and three errors. Kaden Schafer drove in five runs. Matt Dougherty and Stephens drove in three runs.
LITTLE RIVER 16, ELLINWOOD 1 (G2) — Ellinwood led 1-0 when Hammeke scored after a first-inning walk. Hammeke and Doll each singled.
Graham Stephens homered and drove home four runs. Keaton Richardson, Kaden Schafer and Brayden Sears each drove home two runs. The Redskins scored 16 runs on 10 walks and two hit batters.

Ellinwood baseball sweeps Skyline
ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood’s baseball team achieved school history with its first-ever doubleheader sweep 7-3 and 13-11 over Pratt Skyline Friday.
ELLINWOOD 7, SKYLINE 3 (G1) — Ellinwood pitcher David Hammeke struck out 10 batters in 52/3 innings.
Skyline’s Hunter Berens singled home Eli Carrasco for a 1-0 lead. Ellinwood’s Gage Hosman and Hammeke scored on wild pitches and Cole Kubrick singled home Kyler Doll for a 3-1 lead. Ryan Niles scored on a second-inning wild pitch.
Skyline’s Gabe Flanders scored on Leo Egging’s third inning groundout. Eagle Lane Klepper scored on Niles’ third-inning groundout. Kubrick singled home Hammeke and Doll scored on Woodson Corbett’s fourth-inning grounder for a 7-2 lead. Skyline’s Aden Temanson singled home Berens for a 7-3 final.
ELLINWOOD 13, SKYLINE 11 (G2) — Ellinwood’s Kubrick and Corbett drove home the go-ahead runs to break an 11-11 tie. Ellinwood reliever Kyler Doll shut out the Thunderbirds in the final two innings for the victory.
Ellinwood’s Hammeke opened the scoring on a passed ball. Skyline’s Wyatt Slade drilled a two-run RBI seond-inning single. Carrasco and Egging scored for a 3-1 Thunderbird lead.
Ellinwood scored nine third-inning runs. Hammeke, Doll, Corbett, Wyatt Standlee and Niles delivered RBI singles. Hosman drove home two runs and scored on an error. Hammeke scored on a wild pitch for a 10-3 lead.
Skyline’s David Holmes error scored on an error and Slade scored on a groundout for a 10-5 score. Niles hit an RBI double for an 11-5 lead.
Skyline (1-17) scored six fifth-inning runs for an 11-11 tie. Ty Binford and Tyler Wray hit RBI singles. Berens scored on a passed ball and Slade scored on a groundout. Eggin’s two-run single made it 11-11.
Hammeke singled and Doll walked to start the fifth inning. Hammeke scored on Kubrick’s groundout and Doll scored on Corbett’s groundout.
