ELLINWOOD — Ellinwood's Koy Behnke won the 100 meters (10.97), Matthew Cook won the 400 (51.71) and Asher Miller won the 1,600 (4:58.59) to lead the Eagles to first place at Friday's Ellinwood Track Invitational. Behnke was runner-up in the 200 (23.24) and 400 (51.94).
Other runner-up finishes were earned by Bryce Steffan, 300-meter hurdles (46.44); Miller, 3,200 (10:59.64); Cason Merritt, pole vault (10-1); the 400-meter relay (44.78) with Logan Panning, Cook, Merritt and Behnke; and the 1,600-meter relay (3:41.7) with Cook, Miller, Steffan and Panning.
Central Plains Oiler Blaine Hickel placed first in the 200 (23.0) and long jump (19-91/4).
Runner-up finishes were earned by St. John's Quade Smith, 800 (2:11.18); St. John's 3,200-meter relay (8:58.84) with Jace Reyes, Alan Valenzuela, Braxton Alpers and Smith; and Stafford's Joshua Harter, shot put (42-61/2) and Josh Hildebrand, discus (128-6) and javelin (138-1).
GIRLS EVENTS — St. John's girls swept first place in the 400-meter relay (53.02) with Heidi Fisher, Lydia Reed, Mia Meyer and Reagan Bonner; and the 3,200-meter relay (11:20.05) with Heidi Fisher, Averi Fisher, Bonner and Reed.
Meyer swept the high jump (4-11) and 300-meter hurdles (51.82). Bonner won the triple jump (33-1). Runner-up medals were earned by Reed in the 800 (2:36.11) and the Tigers' 1,600-meter relay (4:29.3) with Bonner, Meyer, Heidi Fisher and Reed.
Ellinwood's Brittany Simpson won the long jump (16-73/4) and 200 meters (28.12). Kennedy Behnke placed second in the 400 (1:04.87).
Central Plains Lauren Oeser won the javelin (122-23/4) and placed second in the shot put (33-63/4). Boston Robison placed runner-up in the pole vault (6-7) and 100-meter hurdles (17.52).
Stafford's Letty Costa was runner-up in the 3,200 (14:00.89).
