ELLINWOOD 63, KINSLEY 52 — The patience of Ellinwood boys basketball coach Jaron Lane was rewarded when the Eagles stunned Kinsley 63-52 with a near-perfect 33-point third quarter en route to a 63-52 upset over Kinsley in Monday's Central Prairie League showdown.

Layton Wirtz converted a trio of 3-pointers and Coleman, Drake Hosman and Austin Brack hit 3-pointers in the stunning third-quarter outburst. It may give the Eagles confidence when they return for the Central Prairie League tournament at Kinsley.

"That's the best stretch we've played all year," said Lane.

Hosman scored 16 points. Brack (12) and Wirtz (10) scored in double figures. The Eagles defined a "team victory," with seven players showing confidence shooting the basketball.

Kinsley (8-8, 4-3 CPL) was led by freshman standout Joey Preito with 22 points and Ty Clawson with 16 points.
