Ellinwood, Skyline split twin bill

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood’s 7-run inning helped the Eagles down Pratt Skyline 10-6 in Thursday’s second softball game. Skyline rallied to win the opener 7-6 with a 4-run seventh inning.

SKYLINE 7, ELLINWOOD 6 (G1) – Skyline rallied from a 6-3 deficit with a 4-run seventh inning. Skyline’s Kory Anschutz doubled home Kaitlyn Hanson and S Reyes. Anschutz scored on an error. Gaby Eubank scored on Brylie Ackerman’s single for the game-winning run.

Ellinwood’s Emma Nienke drove home three runs with two singles. Morgan Shinliver drove home two runs. Kadie Bailey also drove home a run.

Shinliver scored on Bennett Jacobs’ first-inning groundout. Shinliver singled home Kennedy Behnke in the third. Nienke singled home Kyndal Moore in he fifth. Caylee Rowan scored on a sixth-inning groundout. Nienke’s single drove home Moore and Jacobs for a 6-3 lead.

ELLINWOOD 10, SKYLINE 6 (G2) – Ellinwood’s Jacobs, Neinke, Shinliver and Keighyn Dombroski each drove home two runs as the Eagles rallied from a 5-1 deficit with a 7-run sixth inning.

Jacobs, Nienke, Shinliver and Dombroski delivered RBI hits in the seventh inning for Ellinwood (1-3).
