ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood erased an 8-point deficit with a game-changing 12-0 run for a hard-fought 53-48 victory over Macksville in Monday's rescheduled Central Prairie League basketball game.
Macksville led 29-21, but the Eagles scored 12 points for a 32-29 lead. David Hammeke scored five points, Britton Dutton four and Kyler Doll converted a 3-pointer. Tyler Knop and Tyler Stuhlsatz ended the third quarter with back-to-back 3-pointers for a 43-37 lead. Doll passed to Dutton for a 49-48 lead. Dutton and Knop each added two free throws to seal the victory.
Ellinwood (13-4, 5-2 CPL) was paced by Hammeke with 17 points and Dutton with 14 points. The Mustangs (7-11 3-3 CPL) were led by Ryan Kuckelman with 15 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks. Rogelio Ibarra contributed 11 points.

ELLINWOOD – Red-hot Mya Maxwell scored 24 points with seven rebounds and three assists to lead Ellinwood's girls past Macksville 52-34 in Monday's rescheduled Central Prairie League basketball game.
Daphne Doll scored nine points and Mary Dimitt added eight points for Ellinwood (9-8, 4-3 CPL). Macksville (4-14, 1-4 CPL) was paced by Joselin Garcia with 11 points and Lydia Mendez with eight points. Machia Huggins grabbed 10 rebounds and Abi Ibarra had four steals.
