CLAY CENTER – Ellinwood's No. 1 singles Caleb Robl (3-0), No. 2 singles Giovanni Battistoni (3-0) and No. 1 doubles Cole Ringwald and Evan Ringwald (2-1) placed first to spark the Eagles to first place at the recent Clay Center Tennis Tournament.
Robl defeated Concordia's Bill Wahlmeier 8-3 in the championship match. Robl also defeated players from Marysville and Clay Center.
Battistoni defeated Concordia's Joshua Wood 8-7 (7-2) for first place. Battistoni also beat players from Marysville and Clay Center.
Ringwald/Ringwald edged Marysville's Titus WassonGus Howard 8-7 (7-5) for first place. Ellinwood's No. 2 doubles Davyn Johnson/Caesar Frayre finished with an 0-3 record.
