Cardinal softball stays unbeaten

PRATT – Hoisington’s softball team converted seven Pratt errors into 10 unearned runs to sweep the Greenbacks 11-6 and 8-5 in Friday’s Central Kansas League twin bill. Hoisington (6-0, 6-0 CKL) plays at Kingman Monday.

CARDINALS 11, PRATT 6 (G1) – Hoisington’s Mollie Steiner drilled a 3-run homer and drove home five runs to spark an 11-hit attack. The Cardinals scored six unearned runs off four Pratt errors.

Jordyn Boxberger doubled twice, scored three runs and drove home a run. Ellie Crawford and Kylie Kempke each delivered two hits and drove home a run.

Pitcher Boxberger (3-0, 1.65 ERA) struck out six batters and yielded four earned runs .  

CARDINALS 8, PRATT 5 (G2) – Hoisington’s Ellie Crawford homered twice and drove home four runs. Pitcher Crawford (3-0, 0.87 ERA) struck out four batters and yielded two earned runs.

Marly Brewer doubled home Carly Delzeit and Paige Lamatsch singled home Kempke. Brewer scored on a wild pitch and Crawford scored on an error.
