If one is to believe the pundits, the folks who make a living ranking high school basketball players, the Sunflower state should have some good times a’ coming!
Kansas State, though missing out on a four-star player from Nebraska is said to have a top-20 recruiting class. They certainly need it.
Wichita State suffered through seven players transferring out, but coach Gregg Marshall has reloaded with a bevy of transfers, junior college talent and super high school players. The Shockers will be in the hunt.
Kansas?
Well, Kansas ALWAYS has a good recruiting class and although Bill Self hasn’t added any Top-5 players, he has a solid class. We all know he can “coach ‘em up!”
The state of Kansas will continue to be a hotbed of college basketball!

You want to be a sports broadcaster? An analyst? A “color man”?
The quickest way to get there is to be a professional quarterback.
Now, isn’t that easy?
The broadcast booths are full of former quarterbacks and now Drew Brees has announced that after his final year of playing for the New Orleans Saints, he will work in the NBC booth.
Brees turned down an offer from ESPN in the neighborhood of $6 million and he doesn’t have to worry about blitzing linebackers.
Can Tom Brady be far behind?
Of course, not all former players make good analysts and broadcasters but Brees and Brady won’t be among them.

Speaking of Tom Brady, this didn’t exactly bring a tear to my eye but I was pleased to hear Brady state that “I don’t think I would’ve been as successful without Bill Belichick.
Belichick, of course, has been the coach of Brady and the Patriots throughout one of the best runs in NFL history.
On the flip side of that, Belichick and the Patriots wouldn’t have been as successful without Tom Brady.
Just like bacon and eggs, they’re a perfect match.
Belichick and Brady are tops at what they do and their coming together for 20 years has been a perfect storm……………..for the rest of the NFL!

Funniest thing I’ve seen in the sports world was this post on Facebook:
“The Big 12 Conference is considering a football season without fans in the stands. Conference officials have reached out to KU for advice on playing before empty stands.”

Shawnee Mission East has earned an incredible 92 state championships in all sports.
Lawrence High is a close second with 91. Perhaps even more incredible is what Silver Lake has accomplished with 53 titles. Silver Lake has always competed in the lower 2A and 3A classes, and state championships are tougher simply because there are more schools and a longer road to a championship.
Scott City has 29 trophies while Great Bend has 22, Saint John 21, Hoisington 14, Larned 11 and Pratt 7. Central Plains competing as Bushton, Claflin and finally Central Plains has 35 state championships.
