GBMS 7th grade girls sweep Dodge City
GBMS 7th grade
Great Bend’s Denver Ringo scores with Katherine Mazouch, Tatum Anderson, Natalee Daniels and Aliya Johnson trailing.

 The Great Bend Middle School 7th-grade Panthers outscored Dodge City Comanche 21-4 for a 33-14 win. Miya Nachtigal, Katherine Mazouch and Aliya Johnson kept pressure on defensively causing several turnovers. Kimmi Hofflinger, Tatum Anderson, Denver Ringo and Natalee Daniels did an excellent job rebounding. Denver Ringo scored 12 points with Tatum Anderson (8), Katherine Mazouch (6), Aliya Johnson (5) and Natalee Daniels (2). 

Great Bend coach Tera Arnberger was happy once the season started.

“The night started with questions, but once the first basket was made, the girls  settled in. Middle school basketball is a different level. Our girls are ready to take on the every challenge, learn as much as possible, work hard and give their best effort. Our most important goal was play our game, hustle and have fun. They did that.”

GBMS B TEAM – The GBMS 7th-grade B team rolled to a 24-10 victory over Dodge City Comanche. Stacy Magnett coaches the B team.

Tough pressure defense caused several turnovers. Damoniq Brown had four steals, two apiece for Alejandra Castruita and Nathalia Gonzalez and one each for Lexis Driscoll and Ryann Stryker. Castruita, Ashlynn Pio and Mareli Castruita each grabbed three rebounds and Diana Stoddard grabbing one board. Stoddard, Alejandra Castruita, Mareli Castruita and Gonzalez each scored four points. Brown, Pio, Stryker and Driscoll each tallied two.
